Side note for anyone following along

I did a de-ionized water and leaf brew(?) anyways. after about 3 weeks of hissing and bubbling ive checked the numbers with some fish tank dip sticks


NH3/NH4 around 4.5? mg/l






Nitrites look negligible, same as Nitrates



GH seems very high between 250 and 500 mg/l



KH very high too about 360 mg/l to my eye




PH is wild high and all lol

I hope this has provided some insight for peeps

Holy shit that's like freaking 1k gallons of what might be free miracle grow lol?

Jadam style fermentation? I guess that's the method I stumbled upon with my alfalfa fermentation. Works for me but it's always short lived weekly inoculation is required, in controlled doses.

I am very interested in lionhead rabbits and vermiculture no till projects fascinate me.. wormbin next

Well, lets have a go and find out;

Im gonna be winging it completely, going with kinda what ive heard and what my gut says

So this is how i began, about 5l volume of rough chopped leaf and stem



Then filled to about the same level with plain water (straight from the tap, naughty me)



Then i thought, well i have some EM kicking around so lets give it a lil kick start so i threw in about 100ml of EM and 2 table spoons of molasses



Then its on with the lid and wait

Whats EM? I'm very intrigued at doing this myself after I've got my worm farm sorted at our new place.

i kinda left it a while and it grow like popcorn size nuggets of microbes. i had just made a new compost pile and the smell was so pungent i wasnt bringing it inside so i threw it into the pile as a super charge on the break down

So the more I read on about fpj and jadam inputs not many seem as if they are used for beginning stages of life, its more like the fpj's are for later stages of ripening. And or setting fruit ,and energy stores, IPM. Alfalfa and some nutrient fixing companion plants along with the LAB inoculant is where I'm at now anyone doing other nutrients recycling in knf or jadam?

THB im not really doing either as im really winging it between what feels right and how the plants respond..... I think the jadam microbe brew is meant to help treat soil initially and encourage cycling then the addition of FPJ for me personally is to try cater the feeds for different stages kinda like you describe

Ive been cheating and just using EM for everything but im on another mission to make LAB shortly which will become the base for fast turn compost (21 day apparently). just made from cold compost mainly which imma refire with coffee grounds oyster shell alfafla, ash and basalt that outta do it lol

ive got rice water and stuff if thats cool bud? viewtopic.php?f=11&t=4469 thats what i did last time now im reading the vessel need to be like 20cm tall or something???

can i just use white rice water? im sure ive seen it done in just pasta jars or am i going crazy?
