They were reasonable sized buds lads. I think they did not handled the moisture from the paper. Ive tried shoe box too...didn't work again. I'd stick to drying nets haha

@Bulls Have you seen that Cryo-Trim™️ apparently 24 hour to both dry and cure? Not happening in my tiny space but interesting none the less:-

Dam nice looking flowers mate! Yeah I had the same problem with some dense MK Ultra buds I had, that I was trying to dry in
the paper bag method, they got the mold all over them....made me want to cry. Its definitely a problem with super dense nugs..you have to take extra care in the drying process as they are so much more susceptible to it. I tried the hanging net method too...it worked, but its not my preferred. I just feel like its another added process that messes with the nugs and gives you a chance to lose trichs.

Now days, I just chop the branches, remove the fan leaves and hang dry in the dark, in my old 600mm X 600mm tent that I first started with. It works well as a drying chamber. In 10-14days my harvest is ready for the dry trim and then straight in to the jars. I found this method works the best for me...right now anyway...as a grower we are always tinkering and trying new things. That's why this community is so tremendous.

True..but it can be very strain specific too. Those skunks you lads love over there in the UK like the cheese...that thing looks like a nightmare trim. I've got some Shoreline seeds I'm scared to pop for that reason...dam thing looks leafer than the amazon.

I'm running a couple strains right now that a super simple to trim dry or wet. Its a nice change from the autos i use to run.

I take way less trim off my nugs these days too. I prefer a layer of sugar leaf...kinda like unwrapping a banana. It adds a level of protection to the nugs which I like. I'm not really one for the full manicured buds you see in the states..where they look like little planets...just seems like you lose a lot of trichs doing that..but hey it looks cool.

Yea, I like this idea, it's not like I am selling it anyway, so why not unwrap you treat like a Quality Street at Xmas. Sugar leaves are going to help keep the trics in while also contributing to them etc. which should make a slower dry cure so Win Win.

I do the same mate. I like that little sugar leaf protection. Especially if its a super frosty strain.

Drying i was hanging in cardboard boxes for a while but it stunk the house out and kept finding the cats trying to hide in there getting hairs everywhere so now I hang string across the top of my tent and hang the plants upside down. This way I can control humidity and protect from light (i agree with capt that light is a terpene killer). Dry usually takes 10 -14 days but i like it that way and zero hay smell.

I dry trim too which is OK. I stick some podcasts on and me and the missus do it together over 2 evenings. Smaller dryer buds first followed by the larger. I also did a staggered trim as I picked the dry enough buds and trimmed and jarred them up whilst the bigger buggers were still moist.
