Hi I’m looking to start my second grow, I’m looking at a 3x2m tent, how many plants would be advisable and what lighting? I’m thinking 6 in 30l pots with 3x600w hps. I have a rvk l1 200mm extractor with a 150mm ram for intake both fans running on either sms com hybrid or the control freak dynamic, unsure of what controller to go for yet as well

Hey bud it all depends on what sort of grower you are e.g scrog ,sog, yield to quality etc and also experience, how well did your 1st grow go? 6 would be easily manageable for a 2nd grow aslong as you didnt encounter to many propelms before , im due to start setting up a 3m x 2m tent next week im doing abit of a pheno hunt 1st so ill be doing around 15/20 in 10 liter airpots to start with but dropping down to around 6/10 once ive found some beauties
For lighting im using 4 IS 530s and probably 3 of the 275s maybe more if i can fit them in, thats probably overkilling that though
And i can recommend the g.a.s environment controller i personally think they are fantastic i havent tried any others as i dont feel i need too with that.

3 x 600w HPS would be very good coverage for that tent. Your extraction and intake should rake care of heat. LED is proving to be more than equivalent to HPS and producing better bud. Temps will be a lot more managable with LED. Ive not personally used either of them controllers but have used a ecotech and its spot on.

I’m a scrog grower, my first grow was in a 2.4x1.2 tent, I had 4 plants with 2x600w hps lights, I got just over 24oz dried and trimmed, I am going for one of the hybrid controllers as they won’t make the fan hum, I’ve looked at the g.a.s and have read they make the fans hum?

I’m have read that hps and led combined together improve quality drastically? I’d like to upgrade to led very soon just a big first cost

Ive got mine hooked up to a silenced ec vector not sure about other makes but ive never noticed a hum you can hear alot of air movement when on full whack if you dont use the acoustic ducting though, thats a v nice haul if your getting that much off 4 plants using hps then i think you will be very pleased with what a top led light can do, like you say they are expensive but worth every penny this forum gives them away alll the time literally every week

If you intend to keep growing LEDs will pay for themselves in saved electricity.
I'm on my second grow and did loads of research about them.
The two main points I always hear are LEDs produce better quality buds but the old type bulbs produce bigger buds.
