Additional calmag under LED's
Hi guys,
New to the forum! I'm currently growing under a combination of the Invisible sun LED's and CMH's. I was told by a couple of people to double Calmag (up to 2ml per litre) under LED's, but I think I perhaps over did it as i got black ash on a couple of autos I just ran - appreciate it may be down to something else but that's the only thing i've changed.
Any definitive advice to be had on CalMag front under LED's?
Thanks in advance :)

Re: Additional calmag under LED's
2ml per litre of canna calmag is insane. Way WAY too much, you'll lock out the Mg and K real quick that high. 1ml per litre max and even that is too much. I'm adding 1ml per 2ltr under LED using RO water and that's plenty. At best, in soft water you may want to add around 3ml per 10lte and if you're hard water it's not required. Hope this helps dude!

Hello and welcome to the forum. Can you upload some photos mate? Is your water soft or hard? I usually go through a harvest with 2 calmag feeds only these days.

Cheers for the response! no photos sadly, plants looked absolutely fine throughout if not a little dark (too much calmag!) ash on the joint just burned black as hell sadly!

Re: Additional calmag under LED's
thanks mate. yeah i've learned the hard way i think. I do think my dryings OK, never had issues before. 60% humidity then down to 55%, took around 2 weeks to dry as the extraction was super low - don't think i was doing anything wrong here but you never know?!Elijahgrowz wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 5:17 amSomeone was pulling your plonker! I don't use it personally hands some on the past but literally only to get color back, back in my earlier days but I don't touch bottled stuff now.
And the black ash in my experience is down to not being dryed or cured correctly

Re: Additional calmag under LED's
welcome to GR420.
I'm with the above comments, 2ml of calmag is madness. Even using RO water. @2-Scoops is bang on, base nutrients should make up for any additional needs the plant needs under a more intense light. Referring to black ash, jyst needed a bit more of a flush before harvest imo. Get a diary up and we can follow and help out if needed.

Re: Additional calmag under LED's
Black Ash also from drying too quick too? I knew too much nutritient build up does it. But also thought a poor dry and cure did this, or contributed.
