Bad to worse. Weather.. for growing

Post by MediGrower »

What measures if any do you guys take in your grows

A. For the insane heat.

Eg. My air intake at night can be 26+ with air out 33+ centigrade.

B. If there is a storm on the way handle the power cut's

Re lighting/pumps/fans... do you turn off and intwrrupt the light period rather than risk them blow or use surge protection etc
*I am but not sure surge protection would make a difference with L.E.D Lighting*

Luckily I'm not in the NFT system yet so would just be the light/fans for now but worth knowing any tips tricks you use

I've tried that approach with a dehumidifier but barely touched it temp wise. Just insane heat's rn... how yours coping with 35s.

I'm using ice packs near the intakes cooler feed water and all sorts. When they go in the system I'm hoping it will level out having that 40 Ls of cool water under them and running over them as right now root temp's are less than ideal. 26c avg but 28c at times.
Humidity is low tho 40-45 % RH.

At the moment they are just waiting to show a few more roots.

That AC in the Amazon link won’t do what you need unfortunately. Luckily where I live you can find nice portable ACs on Craigslist/Facebook Marketplace and whatnot for $200. I’d keep an eye on places like that for a good one and I’d suggest cooling the room the tent is in like MrNice said if possible. If not, cover the front of the AC with an exhaust duct and run that into a bottom vent on your tent. For a portable AC to work it will need to be able to exhaust the hot air from the units exhaust out of that room through a window to the outside preferably.
