Mother plants
So I've got a mum room on the go atm while I set up my new room/ breeding programme and I'll be taking some cuttings in about 2/3 weeks but until then I was wondering the best way to slow down growth without causing any harm, atm I'm just keeping them on a low feed once every 2 days but they dont seem to be slowing down, I've never tried to slow growth so open to suggestions?

Re: Mother plants
I keep a few mums to keep them tame I use a 5 inch pot of compost to restrict the roots bonsais mine are and if they grow to big I take to them with a pair of shears chop them well back, here's one here which I chopped back today it was twice as big as the pictures 4 hours ago give her a stiff feed of grow I did now water only for a week . It will soon grow again bonsai for the win and my light is a 7 watt household led 24/7. This mum is about 2 years old now

Re: Mother plants
I'm surprised but I do have question about this. Has anyone ever took a mother into flower and then back to veg, Do the cuts from a plant that's had done to have the same crazy growth as a clone taken in flower?
Anyone that has time for drama is not gardening enough.

Re: Mother plants
I've not done the reverse on a flowering plant I rather just take a cutting and reveg that, in fact I'll be taking a cutting of my water melon cake this afternoon as it looks like it could do well with a proper grow see, the plant is about 7 weeks into flower BTW I'll root it and reveg it, the reveged cut will be a clone of the original plant . It will grow wierd to start but soon become a mum . I'll put a few pics of the process in here later and then we can see the outcome as the weeks go bysageridder wrote:I'm surprised but I do have question about this.
