Help me Id this! Please

Post by Joker59 »

So this damage happened over night. It doesn’t appear to be mites and the randomness of the holes and the leaves damage make me think flying insect.

I’ve seen small black flys around, I believe them to be a type of Scale. Any input is appreciated! With how many showed up over night I want to nip this in the ass

The green surface has been scraped off, leaving the brown inner fibres of the leaf intact

Strange - it looks 100% healthy apart from the cool pattern - totally looks like an insect of some kind rather than a deficiency but they call me John Snow for good reason. Interested to find out WTF it is?

If you had to call me as your "phone a friend" I would say PH is off?

It happend litterally over night last night so I’m 99% sure it’s a insect, I’ll find my ph stuff and test my run off but I haven’t changed anything. Haven’t fed or changed water source. I think I have it narrowed down to Scales or aphids maybe? Something has physically scrapped the green layer off :s so fucked up, my poor baby

Can you give more information about the environment? Are they indoor grown? Temps, etc.

Can you get a picture of the complete plant as well - are all the leaves like the one shown or?

I'm sure someone more experienced will be along shortly but it would be good to provide as much information as you can to save time.

Didn't even know those were a thing. Never seen one of those before and don't want to.

To be honest mate I just assume you were growing inside 'in a loft' like me.

They do look kinda cool at least - better than fecking Spider Mites.

I love that you mentioned a Mantis - how cool is that for a pet :o)

P.S. Liking the new Avatar you have going on with the Joker. Looks good man.
