Newbie needing help please!
Hi guys.
I’m hoping to get some help. It’s been a long time since I last had a grow on and I’ve just started up again. It was 10 years ago I had a dabble at growing at 20 years old and I was no pro it’s fair to say. I’ve just got back into things and I currently have 10 lady’s in a 2m x 1m tent I have them in pots using a mixed media of 50/50 soil coca mix. My girls are growing well but I have just loved house 2 weeks ago and since moving I have got an infestation of thrips. I’m considering using a predator in there to be exact a praying mantis. I’m hoping someone can help me. Ie. Is this a good choice, should I use a pesticide rather than live predator. Also need some help with feeding my girls my last go was using a self feeding system so I’m a little lost.

Welcome to GR420. Below is a link to how I get rid of them. It's worked twice now and the beauty of these is they continue to work for up to 4 months. In a tent that big you will need a few. If you are able to turn of the extraction when you put them in and just have a fan moving the air around inside the tent for 8 hours a time they should do the trick. For your size tent I'd buy a minimum 4 but maybe 6. Not the cheapest option and I'm sure others will have other ways they deal with the little shits.

Re: Newbie needing help please!
I would try hitting your plants with some neem oil. It stops insect reproduction. Its the only thing besides systemic insecticides ive ever used. Mind u thrips are one of the peskiest pests so do look around everyones suggestions and listen to your gut. Increasing air intensity for your in-tent circulation would help keep them off the plants too

Re: Newbie needing help please!
Welcome Alextomo189, I can't help with your initial problem as I'm a total noob and not even heard of the 'thrips' but will be researching now starting with Keeno's advice!Alextomo189 wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 1:12 amAlso need some help with feeding my girls my last go was using a self feeding system so I’m a little lost.
I had Spider Mite Mother Fuckers at my Moms house if that counts ;o)
Can you expand on your second issue?
Can you advise on any means of preventing them in the first place via the air flow that I should be aware of? Good practices etc. Trying to dial in an automated system and any information like this is golden for me mate.Mafoo.Martin wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 1:42 amIncreasing air intensity for your in-tent circulation would help keep them off the plants too

Re: Newbie needing help please!
Yeah my second issue is I’m following a feeding chart on how much nutrition to give them but I’m feeding them manually and I’m giving them 1.5 litres every two days and I’m getting really good growth but not sure if I’m over or under feeding them. Using a self feeder is good but also has it’s downfalls checking the ph of the water tank regularly is needed and also watch out for root rot I had this issue first time round using a self feeder system with clay pellets. Thank to every one for getting back to me

Re: Newbie needing help please!
Alex it sounds like heavy feeding mix to me. i know people like Keeno recommend 1.0 ml per litre canna a and b in flower and half of that in veg for a beginning place to start your mixes atAlextomo189 wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 2:05 amI’m using canna coco a + b 1.5ml per litre plus rhizotonic at 4ml per litre. Re: Newbie needing help please!
As keeno says no pest strips. I tried everything else to kill them and nothing but it worked, and it worked fast :D
The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear.
