Micro grow carbon filter

Post by flip »

I've been looking around for fan/filters to finish my micro grow setup 0.6x0.6x0.9 tent.

Any recommendations for a fan/filter? I've been looking at the one below., but am a bit clueless!

Thanks!

Keeno mentioned in a YouTube chat recently if I remember correctly, your better off getting a slightly bigger fan than you need as you can always turn it down and it will run quieter than a smaller fan operating at full wack all the time, and you can use it to upscale if you ever want to, it will last longer as well as it will be under less stress. Personal I think 6inch is a good middle of the road choice, I bought a 6 inch rvk fan which apparently are prity good German made I think and a rhino filter which I think are also meant to be decent. Il measure my set up if you like as it’s quite bulky and may not fit in your space.

That will do jobby ok a 5incher is more than enough for that space and those filters are sound, i`m on my 3rd grow with one. Maybe stick it all on outside of grow area so you don`t lose any space.

Fan connected to extraction hole > either just on inside or outside > connect filter > and jobs a good en, fan will pushing air through filter which is outside the tent, instead of pulling but both ways work fine. 8-)

Are there any other viable solutions if space is tight?

I can’t say I’m experienced with indoor growing this will be my first year, here is what I bought for not a lot more, let other more experienced growers tell you what’s best https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/223005805506

Get some ducting stick that on extraction hole, stick fan and filter somewhere theirs room and connect them up, make sure you have fan blowing into filter if you do it that way. Even with carbon filter stood on floor > fan stuck on top > connected to ducting is sound, lesser bends the better with ducting.

Long runs of ducting with bends in will reduce your fans suction ability a bit, but for that space a 5incher is more than enough so long as your not running daft hot hps lights in Summer, but LED you`ll get away with it. Ducting runs can be noisey so maybe look at accoustic ducting
