Light Socket Wiring
New to this. Sorry if it is out of place. Simple wiring question. Wiring socket to power cord. Socket has black and white wire. Power cord has ground(white w/green stripe) a blue and a brown wire. Can not locate the proper wiring online. Anyone have a pointer? Much appreciated

Re: Light Socket Wiring
Hey DiscreteDevil,
I'm going to have to advise you not to play with this sort of stuff dude. If you need to ask that question, you're probably not the one that should be wiring that up. It's not a dig but you're playing with peoples lives if you get shizzle like that wrong. Pre-wired adapters are cheap and easily accessible. I really feel strongly about this because I've seen first hand the sort of troubles playing with electricity can cause.

Re: Light Socket Wiring
Not talking about wiring up capacitors or the internals of a ballast, just verifying the correct wiring on the socket. Thanks for speaking 95% English anyway. Hope chiming in without an answer helped build up your ego today ;) big help here checking for nothing answers

No need to be a prick, I'm a spark to trade and it would be irrisponsible of me to recommend you tried it.
If you can't work a test meter - ie a fluke how could anyone help? My balls are hairy, not crystal.

Have you ever plugged in a live appliance and then cut the wire, shortening everything out? Or... electrocuted yourself whilst showing someone how you electrocuted yourself?
That's why it's not best to ask me.

Re: Light Socket Wiring
No ego's here, just concern for your saftey and the safefy of others. But there are plenty of other forums about that might have someone that can help you.DiscreteDevl wrote: ↑Sat May 16, 2020 11:59 pmNot talking about wiring up capacitors or the internals of a ballast, just verifying the correct wiring on the socket. I hope you see sense and buy something pre-wired. Good luck DiscreteDevil. I'm sorry you didn't find the answers here.

Re: Light Socket Wiring
To reply in your style. This is simply not an electricians forum. Also the A&Es are closed. Not sure how quickly the fire brigade can get to you.. we are not the ones to help you harm yourself or others. If you need help with anything else try and ask in a nicer way. Thread locked.
