ill get a guide up soon buddy but the basics oof it is you put a screen oveer your plants to train all the bud to grow on the same level. scrog nets also come in many forrms youve got your basic scrog net that you just tie/hook to the corners of your tent you havee the better prebuilt once that come with a rigid frame and theres many ways you man make them

this is the net i use

this is how a good scrog plant should be trained

Would a metal one work? I ask because I’m on a serious budget. The last thing I was allowed to buy was my lights. So I have to source materials I find around here. The guy that owned this property before was a gardener type. Trees and bushes n shit is everywhere. Anyway,I found this old metal fencing, looks pretty much like that net there, but not entirely sure if that’s good for it or not. I’m asking because if you look at my hydroponic plant, the way it’s spread apart,it’s starting to grow more colas upward,is the fence or net to halt the tops so the bottoms catch up?

try and keep away from chicken wire as its real thin and can cut into stems, you want holes around 50mm and top your plants at least twice before the hit the net , for a better spread

I've always built my own scrog nets, 2x4 built to whatever size you need then screws and string does the job.
