Veg soil

Hi grow room just after a bit if advice. I've made a veg box and I'm getting a ton of topsoil delivered soon was wondering is there anything I can ir should mix into it to help with the veg? Thank you in advance

top soil is a bit tricky as its usually a mixed grade. most the time you will wanna add some organic matter like a well rotted farm manure at about 30% volume IIRC as well as potentially some aeration (rice hulls are a good organic option), then you have the options of adding lime or oyster shells and coco coir for moisture retention

Cheers mate, I've ordered top soil its £60 a ton delivered but I'm thinking I was looking and seems manure is costly aswel so would I be better off just buying this? Let me know your thoughts

I'm kinda doing similar looking around at the minute mate

I would say that second option is better for planting in as soon as its laid. then youd be just top mulching compost like a normal veg patch. But I'm not very experience with veg soil yet

I've heard that "spent mushroom compost" can be a good option too depending on cost

I've ordered 2 tonne of topsoil and I'm picking up some free rotted manure tomorrow. Only thing I ain't got is something for aerationight have to just go for it without it
