Re: carbon filter kit
I am not a lover kits as a whole. I prefer to source my Carbon Filters fans etc separately, i find you can get the quality you need this way. For instance a lot of kits come with the standard Aluminium ducting what is pretty poor in my experience.
I also like to over to over do it when it comes to extraction and use a controller to suit it to the environment needs.
Ultimately its your budget and space that will dictate your purchase.
The rhino hobby filter i have had good experience with for a budget and also the viper carbon filter.

Re: carbon filter kit
Like Kbag i dont buy kits, normally shite with under powered fans.Ive moved over to viper filters of late after rhino pro letting me down a few times, ive not used the hobby though. Fan i highly recommend systemair rvk fans. they are bomb proof, ive got fans running 24/7 that have been for years.

The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear.

Re: carbon filter kit
I bought a systemair fan and a viper filter on ebay - they were both way cheaper than what I saw kits with lesser quality offered for on grow shops. I agree the systemair (I have the AC) is not super quiet but with some old duvets, acoustic ducting and a silencer it is now silent enough to run in our studio flat without disturbing our sleep.

Re: carbon filter kit
I`m a big fan of Rhino Pro myself its all ive ever used till recently and you`ll easily get 2 years of constant growing from one. That said i did change to Viper CF for my last grow but no way can i see it lasting same time as a Rhino Pro CF, just by looking at the thickness of the side walls as well as overall size in general it`s quite alot a smaller, so tis pretty obvious to me contains less carbon to scrub the stinks so in effect won`t last as long, that`s my opinon atmo but maybe come back in 12 months see if i`m still using it and retract this statement lol. I did read 1 or 2 peeps having stink problems using Rhino. but everyone (2 people) i know grow round my way uses them and they`ve never had stink issues and neither have i.
Yes Systemair are good fans that ive used myself for donkeys years, but if your wanting summink a bit more silent maybe look at the Manrose twin or three speed extractors at a fair price , its my next buy tbh on extraction list, well if this Viper filter holds out for 2 years otherwise it`s a new Rhino filter first.

Re: carbon filter kit
Hi,
I'm going to try a Vivosun 4" 190 CFM variable inline duct fan with 4" carbon filter. I will certainly report on how well it works when I can.
