That's actually pretty fucking amazing mate! I've been actually reading and reseraching microgreens quite a lot lately.
Would be nice to speak with you and keep and eye of how you're doing it as obviously many differet ways.
went and bought some seeds the other day, also some trays, I've got coco and some bricks to put on top of the trays for the first few days. Do you do that at all? Also What would you say is the best medium for it? At the moment I've chosen coco as I have lots of it but was looking at them hemp sheets?

Bulls thanks for the kind words man. Its definitely slowly coming together. I still have to install air circulation, automatic watering, and wrap it eventually...

For microgreens I have experience growing them in soil and on cotton pads. I have also seen people grow certain micros on burlap mesh, coco, and no media.

I prefer soil because you only plant in a 1/4 inch of soil and use only water. No need to soend money on nutes :) i get 2 cubic feet of soil for $8 from my hardware store.

As far as weighing them down the first few days, yes I do that! Whatever I plant them in I use another of the same planting tray placed on top of the seed bed with enough water in it for me to feel like they are weight lifting enough. And man can they lift!!

Maybe I should start buying up all the potting soil... hmmmmmm

Although Bulls I do plan to switch everything to coco eventually and will need your guidance there

I think thats accurate. The seed provides essential nutrients for the seedling to emerge and grow briefly before developing the first true leaf. Now a lot of people also grow what some in the industry refer to as overgrown micros where they plant seed slightly less dense and grow the plants to the 2nd or 3rd leaf before harvesting. In this situation I would recommend feeding 1/4 strength nutes once the first leaf begins to show

So can someone tell me whats up with this leaf cupping in these chilis? They r all the same variety but I dont remember seeing this last time I grew them. They were in low light so I put em in a bit higher now

Image

Also I think the leaf margin necrosis on my cauxcomb here is also due to low light or wrong humidity levels not encouraging phototranspiration to the tips of the leaf margin. Again lets see if higher PPFD helps fix this

Image

Besides these couplethings, other things are ok except my Hyakka is never happy regardless of what I do so still working on that. No pic of these.

Microgreens are BANGIN tho

And I finally had a ginger root sprout so lets see what this thing does
