Mammoth Carbon Filter Review

Wassup GR420. I've recently had another Rhino Pro filter fail after 12 months of use. 12 months is ok for the cost and the fact it keeps you safe but there are many more lower price point filters out there now, if I'm going to expect a Rhino Pro to fail every 12 months then I may as well try some other brands that come in a little cheaper.

I decided to go with Mammoth. They are associated with a brand of fan that I plan to move over to so it's a perfect fit. The filter size is 150mm x 600mm. It uses the same carbon as other top brands and more importantly a 50mm bed of it. Despite this, the filter is lighter when handled. I believe this is due to the top cap being stainless steel, not aluminum like the Rhino's I'm used to handling.

The filters come well packaged in a nicely printed box, the first impression is good. Getting the filter out to have a look at, well made, a few cool features ive not seen on other brands in the past. On the top and bottom of the filter, there are turnable hanging points. The pre-filter is secured with some bands with the Mammoth printed logo on it. Little things but these give a look and feel of quality and attention to detail that's nice to see.

Apart from that, there's not much to report atm. They have been in overnight and no smell leaks. This is by far the smelliest time of the grow, week 8 is approaching and temps are climbing.

I'll update after a few months of use.

Yeah I use a rhino for just scrubbing my main room.
Doesn't seem that good.

Will look forward to hearing about your results K
