Fresh frozen Vanilla Tart bubble hash
Starting material, fresh frozen Vanilla Tart smalls that were harvested back in November.
First pull, 73u-159u, still in the bag, and then after being moved to the drying screen.
I did four washes, all of them looked fantastic. I could have gotten another wash or two from this material but I let myself run out of ice. The left container holds the 73u-159u plus three little piles of 160u-189u, the right container has the 25u-72u.
And I'll finish with some close ups.

If you reduce the amount of hash you consume in order to preserve your glass you've missed the whole point.
The hash is more important than the glass.

Re: Fresh frozen Vanilla Tart bubble hash
That was about 900g of untrimmed fresh frozen. It would have dried to about 225g. All lower growth smalls that I wouldn't have wanted to trim.

Re: Fresh frozen Vanilla Tart bubble hash
For me the hash is the ultimate point of the grow. Especially fresh frozen, full melt bubble hash. That is the truest expression of the plant. Pure clean trichome heads. Even the temple balls of old school hashish are wonderful tasting with modern strains.
Here is what I expect from at least the first two washes of this Vanilla Tart. This is the second wash from her about a year ago. Melted into this at room temperature.
I want you to imagine Vanilla bean ice cream drizzled with Carmel with an occasional spicy exhale.

Re: Fresh frozen Vanilla Tart bubble hash
The Vanilla Tart hash has dried Here is a pic in the drying setup.
I don't have a freeze dryer so I have to improvise. Any type of air drying is going to allow oxidation of the hash turning it darker. To minimize this I now use this method.
In the bottom of my Rubbermaid containers I have a piece of corrugated cardboard under my drying screens. After the wash I change the wet cardboard and put the lids on and put it in the freezer. When I am ready to dry the run (my drying space is limited) I take it out of the freezer. While my patties are frozen I carefully pop them off of the screen. I again place the cardboard then place a sheet of parchment paper in a different container and then place the hash in. Next I put in three or four sachets of food grade silica beads and a hygrometer. Seal it up and put in my mini fridge adjusted to 50F 10C. The silica packets are replaced daily for the first few days. Once the RH is down to 35% I let it stay at that RH for four or five days. I like to see at least three days in a row that the silica packets don't need replaced. My assistant saw a little chunk of the 73u-159u second wash that she wanted to try. It was .85g of super sticky fuuuuuuulllllllllll melt.
And the numbers are in.
900g fresh frozen, untrimmed, larfy lowers in
40.75g bubble hash out
4.5% return
Not to shabby

Re: Fresh frozen Vanilla Tart bubble hash
160u-189u
I did a little grading on the hash today. Actually starting from the bottom and going to work my way up. Although the 160u-189u is made up of larger heads it is also harder to separate the heads from the contaminates. These came out rather clean though. Not quite full melt, but dabbable. It does leave a bit of char on the nail. I'd grade it at 4 of 6 stars.
I also tried the last wash of 25u-72u. On the left is the 25u-72u. Again, not full melt but I’ll give it 4.5 stars.
Maybe try the next ones later tonight.
