Watsup gmo, I'll be doing a butane run tonight and winterizing with everclear. If you've never tried winterizing before it's fucking awesome! seperates all the lipids and plant waxes from the oil
I'll post updates throughout, it will also be vacced for a few days

On point as always Josh mate!! I have some acetone I was literally thinking to myself... do I go and winterize this lot?

I read something really stupid the other day that said removing the waxes stops it becoming shatter. I kinda wanted to test that as I was under the impression that shatter by name was winterized...

I've done it twice now, it actually helps it shatter up more because you're removing the waxes. I used 99% alcohol last time

Just do your bho run as normal but scrape up while it's still runny, no need to purge further. Then just dissolve in the alcohol and freeze for 2 days. You'll have a layer of wax on the bottom of your glass/jar, so pour slow when you filter it the last time. You'll see it on the bottom, looks like some nasty shit!
Made my batch way smoother though

Yeah mate I completely agree. I've been winterizing my RSO style oil for months now and I can get it much clearer and more stable with the deep freeze and extra filtering

Finally got around to running my chemdawg trim!
Packed the tube with prbly 1.5 ounces and put two cans through, made the mistake of not buying more butane

Oh well, it'll be really good quality at least

Sat it in a hot water bath for few minutes and transferred the honey into 99% iso, into the freezer she goes!

After only 24 hours you can already see the waxes seperating from the oil, really cool

I also scraped the pan again and put a chunk of bho in the vac chamber. Will be a good test to see how much smoother the de-waxed stuff is

Keeping low temps this time, under 100 degrees fahrenheit. seems to be preserving taste and terpenes much better

Super easy aspie, a vac isn't really needed just speeds the process up a ton. A couple cans of butane, a pyrex dish, a tube and some trim and you're set
