If you want to save seeds let it go till when the fruit is no longer rock hard. Get it super ripe. Cut it open along the length. Take out the seeds. Rinse them in a glass of hot tapwater. Best one wide enough to dip in a tea sieve, otherwise you'll be taking out the floaters with a small spoon. If you have many floaters rub them with your fingers to remove oil or contaminents and many will drop to the bottom. Remove floating seeds. Pour the water with the sinkers through the sieve. Dry with kitchen paper. Then spread them on double layer kitchenpaper fold the paper and let the seeds dry for minimal 8 hours, but a week is okay too. Then put them in labelled little zippy (weed) bag. And share.
