I have tried many methods and have found seed straight in a presoaked root riot cube works the best with minimal effort. Perfect!

Ok I’m stupid anal with my seeds because we were doing some pheno hunting we had a limited amount of hard to find strains and needed good rates. I’m 100% for the last couple years now so something is working lol but sorry for the OCD

Cup of bottle water for 16-20 hours
Two paper towels on plate
Pour seeds out and soak paper towels well
Fold towels so there is 3 layers on top of seed and two on bottom
Tuck seed in by pushing down towel well
Drain excess and play onto heat mat (optimal, no change in rate but faster germ)
Leave for 24 hours, wetting gentle as needed, never let it dry right out but no standing water on plate
After 24 hours on pad check ever 6-8 hours until tap root is nicely exposed and fat
Plant in pre-wet medium of choice!

I have a good few older seeds and like fuck could i get them to crack doing it my normal way, so i bought me some hydrogen peroxide @ 12% strength and added 2ml to a pint of luke warm water and slung in a seed for around 10 hours, removed seed ran it under tap to wash away any residue and then put it inbetween a damp paper towel in a plastic container and into a kitchen cupboard in dark. Bingo 4 days later it was all out of it`s shell and planted out, that`s @ first attempt using old seeds i could never sprout before. I like it lots..........

Step 1- soak jiffy pellet in tap water
Step 2- let excess water drain from jiffy, squeeze gently
Step 3- plant seed about 1/2 inch deep and cover lightly with jiffy stuff
Step 4- put in tray with dome and heat mat under (do not put jiffy directly over the mat)
Step 5- wait 2-3 days and take a look, I've had 100% germination on about 40 seeds so far this way, no need for anything fancy imo

If I had to guess I'd say 78-80 F, anything over is too hot imo

I used a different method than usual and I not only got 100% healthy germination rate they've all had excellent growth so far.

Myself relying on a healthy Soil Food Web like to ensure I have a mocrobial relationship from day one with the plant.

I soak mine in a kelp extract solution for 24 hours until the seeds sink.

I then split a Riot Root Cube in half like a hot dog (got that from Spartan for a different method for cloning) I then place the seed ontop and within 1-2 days I had 2 inch tap root, I just leave in the window under a cover until they're ready for potting.
