I'd get this and save the faffing mate

That's in stock in my area :)
It doesn't say 1.5mm though.
10amp. That's more than I thought it would need, but if you say that it's okay, then that'll be the one I'll get.

I know nothing about DIY other than Don't Involve Yourself.

I've had so many accidents with electricity, and many more close shaves that I become rather timorous when it comes to such things.
I have one of these panels plugged in via one of those extensions... No issues yet

Maybe await Nanook or invisible to just confirm it's not over kill before buying mate

But that what I'd look at rather than spool flex wire. Try find a plug and cable that suits your needs mate

I'll need to hear back from them by 09:30 today as I'll be out getting something one way or the other. I have seeds that will pop through the soil any day.

I'm sure Nanook will be along before that. He is normally an early riser mate

Other wise I'm sure there are larger Amp options, just search extension leads on your local hardware website and find what matches

I've just checked the fuse that came with the light. That's 5amp
I can buy whatever amp lead and swap the fuses over.

that extension is fine Aspie

Great post GMO, I would say however, trim the blue an brown wires to give you around 6 mm- 8mm of exposed wire, that way you will get all the way into the connector without any copper left exposed. Also if using flexi wire I suggest tinning the tips to get a better connection.

If you are going to use your own wire opt for 300v rated hook up wire. Flexi is preferred. This however is supplied with the kits.

I haven't opened it yet, so can take it back if need be. They didn't have any 1.5mm 3 core cable (unless I purchase 25m)

One other thing mate, just to make life easier in the future

If you cut off the female end of the extension cable, try leave about a foot of cable and save the plug end.

If you ever buy a ecotech controller, you can then wire the female plug to the controller to make it 100 times easier for changing fans over or connecting them in the first place
