Dragonfruit (Pitaya/Pitahaya)

Post by Poizon.Ivy.420 »

Hi Growmies! I started a bit of an experiment when I planted seeds from a Dragon fruit. This is the result so far.
Does anyone in the community have experience growing Dragon fruit?

The soil used for this last transplant was Fox Farm Ocean Forest. Coco substrate was used as a mulch.

Is this what a Dragon fruit cactus is supposed to look like?

 Very interesting plant as well. Looks like it's taking a piss outside the pot.

My experiment has only included the white fleshed variety. I started with several seeds in each of 36 starter cells, and ended up with these three plants. Not a great germination rate, but it's a start. I think it'd be great to see your Dragon Fruit cactus, MafooFarms!
