Re: a Little bit of Sherbet
Has to pH again today. Crept to nearly 7. Is that normal?

Re: a Little bit of Sherbet
Are you running an airstone in the res?
It can take a while for the ph to stabilise when growing in water, a pump in the res just circulating the solution should help speed things up for you.
Some people use airstones in the res and i used to but find it causes ph to change drastically over night so stopped using it

Re: a Little bit of Sherbet
When I grew in dwc I was adjusting the ph for a couple of days after a water change , its a bit different with your auto pots but try not to get too anal with it let it drift .5 either way I think it helps to open up different nutrients as you let it do its own thing . It's easy to over think it I do it all the time you know what your doing and you will know if something is out then you can sort it then

Exactly that, it takes a day or two to settle.Wrh wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 7:20 pmWhen I grew in dwc I was adjusting the ph for a couple of days after a water change , its a bit different with your auto pots but try not to get too anal with it let it drift .5 either way I think it helps to open up different nutrients as you let it do its own thing . Helps if you use barrels and knock up the feed a few days in advance, then just spend a couple of days ph’ing it in the barrel.
I find i could set the barrel on the first day to 5.8 and by the next day its risen to over 6. I tend to set the barrel to about 5.3 and after the first day in the nft tank its risen to pretty much 5.8 where i want it, sometimes higher but its no drama, ill just ph once a day and leave it till tomorrow once its in the tanks, dont overthink it.
Have you got an ec pen? If you havent it will help you massively when growing in water

Re: a Little bit of Sherbet
What's up peeps.... My kind wife put the net in for me. Now idea what week or anything we are on. Still on the same feed as above, haven't had to top it up yet. Used about a quarter of the tank thus far.
I'm checking the pH daily now and adjusting. I reckon by the time this feed is used up I won't be far off flipping.

Re: a Little bit of Sherbet
Not too happy with the res, it's a bit murky and I don't like that so might change it.
