1k's running at 600w each for temps mate. If these other kids piss off so I can get to work I can solder the LEDs ...... meh
Keep me posted Grouse
I will take pics etc to show work mate, might help someone else as these connectors seem to be on most the makes of Qboards.
Just want to crawl into bed and sleep atm tbh hahaha

RIGHT!!!!!
So I kicked everyone out.
Water change - ec about 1.3.
1/2ml/L calmag pro.
0.3ml/L rootbastic
170ml Ionic grow
7ml PH down
PER TANK! 80L Tanks.

And now...... the QB LED issues.... well...... I decided to feck off the stupid clip things as they are proper crap.
Soldering iron set to 350C
This isn't an easy task for a normal soldering iron. You need to remember if you lift the pads with too much heat or ruffness, its fecked unless you can still use one of the others on the boards. BE CAREFUL IF YOU TRY THIS! I am used to soldering via a microscope but it wasnt needed in this instance. They are now MUCH stronger, but I didnt install them yet. I want to get jubilee clips to go round the drivers and hold them onto my box section :)

New improved QB pics!!!!

I need to get some RTV for over the connections too.... OK, im not going to touch them but you never know, slip, trip, fall etc and hit it - no idea what the drivers output but im betting it would be nasty.

yea better to protect yourself aginst shocks, even a small amout of electricy can be deadly , not the voltage so much as the amps that get ya
We can get swept away by our thoughts,,or learn to step back and see them with clarity.
Easy to forget its a choice

Well done Grouse. Done well.

Yes all QBs of all brands use these surface mount connectors. An yes they are delicate.

As i mentioned in the pm we have swapped them out on the next batch for a sturdier connector.

Youve done a good fix Grouse but like i said youre under warranty so if you wanna still swap em for the new batch ones when they arrive let me know.

Iv also just ordered some custom gromits . Ill send you some when they are done 😁

The offer is greatly appreciated mate, but as long as they are working I'm happy :) If I find issues with temps and solder I will give you a shout but I have put them in as temps hit 34C with hps!!!!!! I might even make a little how to incase others have the same issue at some point :)

Yeah gmo its jackchain - I use it for loads of things. I doubled up the hangers, and did away with the catch thing to get more height, and sit flatter :)
