I'm not sure flushing living soil is a good idea? I'm no expert though. :idn:
I agree, flushing will make them worse. Personally, I'd grab a bottle of Plagron Alga Bloom and get some food in there.
I have got some of this:

Image

Ionic stuff. Soil bloom and PK etc......
Those are chelated salt based nutrients. They would 100% improve things and arguably be the best option as the chelate will give them a shot of Fe. Iron is a nitrogen fixer and a deficiency will manifest into several deficiencies. The quicker you can get iron into the plant, the quicker it will recover. That being said, the whole point of growing in living soil is to not use these types of chelated salts as some worry it affects the taste etc. That's why I suggested Alga Bloom as it's available immediately buy doesn't contain chelating agents etc. It would be slower than Ionic but you wouldn't be comprising taste etc if that's your thing.

Some might argue adding salts will mess up the microlife but I wouldn't worry about that as it looks like they all left weeks ago  sorry man only jesting :fight:

Sorry one more thing. Do a slurry test on your soil too as if you've been throwing in the organic material but there's no microbiology to process it you might have made things a little acidic.

Hahaha yeah man. Maybe all the pumice and stones holding them as a home though! 🏡

I think I will have a look later, the tea may have done some good. If not its chop chop I reckon and let the microlife develop again.

I need more supply.

Also just started a different grow, need to start a diary on that.

It is mostly compost and castings, which will be topped up with the ionic growth tech in bottles.

Need something going on. 😫

Then in here a week or two in the dark with some castings and goodies..... then the golden Haze goes in......

I probed it and it was around neutral. 7

So been through that idea.

Good thinking though Chap 😁

Point taken. I only thought to flush based on all the stuff that was getting added to try and fix it. As an outsider its hard to know if too much was added and now the soil is too hot and microbes been shocked as well.

Thanks for the lesson on living soil
I would be against adding any bottled stuff anyway.

I do have a bottled organic nute but I think that'll ruin things more for the next run.
Yes, I think that could make things worse. Ionic is great in Coco and Canna soil, but in living soil it could mess up the balance.
It is their "soil" version mind.

But still, I'm suing that for another grow I just started.

My mate swears by Ionic, especially for newbies, as I understand it's quite hard to mess up with that. I think he uses the coco version in soil and coco and it works fine in both. Good sh!t!

Seems a shame to me to chop them now you've come this far Rik, maybe just go for one more week to see if the buds swell, then chop if not? I totally understand why you would prefer to chop now and get the soil ready for the next run, but if I wasn't in any rush I would keep them going a bit longer.

The issue he has is that throwing a load of salt fertiliser in there might upset the soil if he wants to regenerate and go again in the same media. Starting over might be the right choice here as there's not long left to recover. You will get some decent bud sti though so if he's against bottle feeding, I would personally just finish the grow. You'll still get a return rather than binning it all.

Yes, I wasn't suggesting he put Ionic in, just that it was good sh!t when used in Coco or Canna soil :agree:
