SCROG Question

Post by trid »

Hi all,

I searched SCROG and read through many posts. I see a lot of folks using screen of green (SCROG) along with training and lollipoping and such. So many new things. Some are using string and others are using more of a wire.

My question is - is the net to support the plant or just give the grower a visual of topping/training height? Thanks!

I kind of scrog but don't I use 2 nets first I train under to get an even canopy then when I flip I put a second net in as support for buds its not a true scrog but it helps me keep everything there I want it

I use 1 or 2 nets, or a string through eyes. I use as support and to flatten. In nft especially it's a support frame.

Nanook,

Ohh, so the string is pushing it down. I was thinking you pull it through the squares. I have read that the goal is so the light hits everything evenly.

Yes I use it to flatten and keep poking down then when it's full I change the lights to 12/12 hoping ( usually proven wrong ) for an even canopy :) as they grow through the squares it supports them :)

plastic coated grid fence wire or steel frame is much better than the elastic scrog nets .
its more solid and doesn't push up in the middle.
you can also buy solid mesh panels on the bay of eees. look for something with 2 inch squares.

I make my own nets from softie wire. Gives me the freedom I like. 8 can add into it if needed as I go.
