Carbon filter help

Post by Tictok »

Hi all

I've been busing RAM carbon filters but I'm finding them not lasting that long and ending up with too much resistance.

Not sure if vegging with high humidity has screwed it as the ac infinity hardly pulls at veg and maybe the carbon is clumoing up inside, but I'm flipping to 12/12, ramping the ac infinity to 10 and hardly getting negative pressure.

A decent filter is essential for this run so I wonder if anyone can recommend a good carbin filter.

Any advice much appreciated.

I use a 5 inch Carboair filter on a 6 inch AC infinity.
I'm getting about 18 months and that's on 24/7.
The cheapest place I've bought them is National Greenhouse on line. UK
One thing I've started doing is writing the date installed on the filter. It gives you a little reminder.

Just a quick one. Have you checked the ducting is good?
I had a problem with that thick silenced ducting. It was all perished and falling apart inside.

That's the thing, mine is a carboair, I think I buggered it up having hardly any pull through in veg and the high humidity.

Phat filters are probably the best I've used over the years but are hard to come by. I've had issues with rhino Pro personally but the vast majority seed to use them. I've been using mammoth and they seen to be ok.

Cheers Keeno, I'll see if I can track one down.

Best filter i have used is the Rhino hobby normally last me a couple of years. Although atm I am using a Carboair what was twice the price. Saying that, carbon filters do have a R/H working range not sure off my head but I think its like 30%-80%.
