Run to waste high EC
Afternoon people, as above, I'm feeding around 1.5ec 3 weeks into flower and everything looks good, my issue is my runoff is near 3.0ec. Plants all seem happy and the runoff PH is same out as it went in, maybe a touch lower. Is this an early warning sight that I have issues coming? When runoff was at 2.4ec I lowered feed from 1.8ec to 1.4ec but is had no effect. Any help would be appreciated

Re: Run to waste high EC
Only thing I can think is that youve got some salt buildup in your media and may benefit from a healthy flush with some aloe or yucca and refeed. Are you coco or straight hydro?

Running In straight coco in fabric pots. How much would you flush through each pot?MafooFarms wrote: ↑Thu Mar 31, 2022 4:32 pmOnly thing I can think is that youve got some salt buildup in your media and may benefit from a healthy flush with some aloe or yucca and refeed. Re: Run to waste high EC
I would seek additional advice from some coco growers here. Hopefully others will weigh in.
I have heard members say a good flush is the volume of the pot.
Can you upload a picture or two?

Re: Run to waste high EC
I'd give them a flush with plain old tap water until EC in = EC out... Normally 3 times the volume of the pot I find.
Then run then through with a feed.

Re: Run to waste high EC
Make sure they get plenty of run off each feed mate. That way you won’t get any build up. But like Marcus said, I’d give them a good flush to reset and go again

Re: Run to waste high EC
I'm getting about 20% runoff each day but there is two plants that are smaller than the rest so it is possible that they are producing the majority of that 20%....

Re: Run to waste high EC
They look well taken care of. Nice setup you have!
If youre worried about it, I would follow Marcus’ advice.
Being in coco the plants should respond well to a flush and proper feed

Re: Run to waste high EC
hi ime those fabric sacks catch and hold on to the nutrient salts and so run of reads high all the time i would not jump to flushing myself just lower the ec going in to 1.2ec and add a little extra run of,i have had ec off the scale in the waste res several times and plants are just dandy its only when the high ec state is prolonged i see any problems,i use dutch pro grow and bloom and nothing else no additives and vary ph every feed and now ignore run of readings unless theres an obvious problem, good luck
