Topping isn't difficult. Let the plant grow to 5 nodes. Count up 3 nodes and there should be a bigger space to get some little snips in then just cut.
Sorry not got a photo of a plant just topped but thos one you can see I leave a bit of stem above the node.
Then as the plant grows I try to get them to grow away from each other.

Well demonstrated. Thank you. How you have them bent down so far is what I'm going to have to do with mine soon. I appreciate this post.Point 5 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 1:31 pmTopping isn't difficult. Let the plant grow to 5 nodes. I get that this may be your first plant and you are skeptical to doing anything you could maybe deem as “wrong”… however at the end of the day this plant is a weed and a damn strong resilient one. Stress early on for a plant is good! Those Terps love stress within a certain amount. Don’t overthink the little things

You can crush the stems between your fingers and then point them in whatever direction you want, you can do it from a young age but be aware young plants need only a gentle squeeze till you start to feel it crunch. Older plants need more pressure but are easier to do without messing it up, pliers can be used on thicker stems.
To get a plant to bush out instead of grow straight up i like to go around all the stems as close to the main branch and crush them, then just point the branch out more and leave it, itll repair itself in no time. Then a few weeks later do the same but further up the stem.
Like cam said though dont over think it, for your first grows you should be concentrating on learning your plants and the signs that they will give you if something is wrong. Learn to grow healthy plants and how to read your plants and everything will make much more sense.
Good luck and don’t over complicate it, keep it simple

I use the siftte green wire and slowly Iver a week pull then down 8f that makes sense it's not done in one go. I've pulled to hard before and split plant down the middle and she survived some how. These plants are up for a bit of abuseRaziel40 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2023 4:11 amWell demonstrated. Thank you. How you have them bent down so far is what I'm going to have to do with mine soon. LST guide in the following link. I find topping and some LST a real nice combination.
