If your tent walls pull in a bit, you're good to go in my opinion

Yeah that's what I thought, although I believe that although you have negative pressure, doesn't necessarily mean that your exchanging a good amount of air? At least that's what I'm currently learning...

Why do you need to exchange such volumes of air?

Surely air movement inside the tent is more important?

I run a 5 incher in a 1.2 tent at half whack, under 100m3/h... AND recirculate the air in the room with just the door to the room open.

I get no issues.

:idn:

PS - I only have slight negative pressure in t he tent so the filter does it's job.

See, I'm doing the same in a 1.2x1.2x2.0m tent with a 5" rvk a1 rated to move 220m3/h

I too had it turned down (50% speed) but keep getting a stale smell. Each day I've cranked jt up and the smell is still there but a little less. I'm at 90% now on min and set it to 100% speed on max. I'm wondering whether they both aren't supposed to smell great at week 5 flower...white widow and silver shining haze both RQS...maybe it was just a coincidence that both don't smell that pungent at this stage.

The only reason why I thought it was or is airflow is that its the only thing I've altered this grow with a fan controller. :idn:

Stale smell?

Damp carpets? Moist bus seats? Eau de armpit?

Can you explain the stale smell...?

My plants are 'funky' come week 5, open the tent and the body odour number orange seven funk kinda hits me.

Maybe you smell in a different wavelength?

I dunno dude haha

Smells like it could be some kind of mould, the air just doesn't smell fresh. First I thought maybe it's the tent that smells a bit, but nah.

I've sniffed at the pots, trays etc, and they don't smell. The plants don't smell like the stale air smell, but neither plants smell strong and pungent as I would kinda expect in week 5 flower. White widow barely smells of anything, but the haze has a weird damp grass type smell, but it's not that stale room smell.

All I can suggest is unplugging your carbon filter from your extraction and then waiting for the wife to scream at you cause the house stinks.

Then you will know all is fine with the universe.

haha. I was getting concerned I'd lost my sense of smell for a bit, because the expectation of the plant stinking is so high, I didn't want to believe it wasn't smelling dank

I'm 20 to 21 degrees at night at the moment, pulling fresh air in, but that's the only choice I have with where I am. Moving soon anyway and have a plan for a groom, would pull fresh air into main room, I'll heat the main room and then pull air from that. Takes a lot of power at the moment with heaters etc....

Next place will be all insulated 360

I'm 20c minimum, below that and my fan heater kicks in.

I guess it's a game of "suck it up and see". Hopefully with increase in ventilation introduces the dank smells soon.

Peace and Merry Xmas
