feather meal

Post by Greenfingers »

I'm wanting something that's a slow-release Nitrogen, I've read through a few pages, and there doesn't seem to be too much info about it.

What are your thoughts on this?

Iirc @camkush has used it before.

I've started incorporating human hair into my compost and worm feed for similar reasoning

Yeah I did use Feathers for a little while there. Contrary to a lot of belief you can actually burn plants with it but it’s not very common. Depending on situations you may get 3-5 months worth of feed if you use the right amount as well. I feel like it takes at least 10 days to begin breaking down but that’s only my opinion

I concur with this, my pots this year had one top dress in five months.
