i wouldnt freeze it bud, just cos im not sure how will the microbes will hold up. in the fridge is good for like 3-6 months and supersaturated with brown sugar it should last like 2 years

actually the brown sugar sucks the water out of their bodies and puts them into a kinda of hibernation called cyst where they form a hard outter layer to protect them long term. then adding them to water wakes them back up
