Yellow tips on seedling

Post by longtimelover »

Hi all, need some more help.

Seedling has developed yellow tips overnight.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/u5kxZ6XE4eHbRvND9

Based on my previous post, my last watering was via a small syringe. Around 15ml in 500ml pot for a seedling that is 3 days old.

Growing in coco/perlite
Using water and nutirients

What should I do?
Less watering? Skip nutrients for a bit?

I keep reading measure the run off for pH and Ec, but I'm not using enough water at this stage for runoff

Additionally humidit was 70-85 last night, could it be this?

Thanks in advance

Maz

Really depends what he means by Nutrients. He might have used some kind of root stimulator or canna start..which is good for seedling at that stage..but if he used 3 ml per L Canna A&B we have the answer of the problem :) More info and we will come to the answer :Stoned:

thanks all,

I am using canna A&B, started with 0.9ml of both in 500ml but then had to add 500ml of distilled water to achieve EC
pH was 6

I did have some water droplets on the lead - so that could be it as well

will switch to distilled water for the next few days and see what happens,

What is your tap water EC mate, what's the reason to be using destiled water? I wouldn't use destiled water as it means literally zero feed..whilst tap water still got something in it. 0.9 in 500 ml is nearly 2ml per L so that's asking for trouble itself. I'd just use tap water with pH 5.8-6.0 Until first set of true leaves appear and then start adding A&B gently to increase the EC by 0.2 on top of your base.

the readings seem to vary daily for tap water - is this normal?

just tested now and EC 0316 (0.3) and PH 7.17

both have been much higher in previous tests, really strange

Seems that you have soft water..which is good. I'd get water sitting for 24 hrs prior mixing with nutrients or feeding the plants. No need for destiled water :) Tap water ec does vary sometimes.depending how much chemicals the put in it to "clean it"

Water sitting? do you mean pour some into a container and use that , rather than fresh from the tap?

ahh the EC thing makes sense.

thanks

Well yes. Let the water rest for 24 hrs in a bottle or bucker or whatever you use to store it :) For now you only need small amounts every other day or two but when plant grows and needs daily feeding you can mix your feed for few days in advance.
