Re: Light heights
With the led's ive played with i let the plant tell me where it wants the light. Start high, lower every other day by a inch or 2.
Seedlings obviously need extra attention if using a higher power led with no dimmer.

Re: Light heights
Me again....LOL
This is a subject mrnice has been playing around with for quite a while now light height and strength.
So far what i found out is that cos im in a small tent 60x60x140 the light must reflect more off the walls or some think as I know LUX is not for plants but for humans and we all don’t have a fat wallet to buy a quantum meter so as a guide we can use lux as we all have a smart phone etc
Any way one day GMo pointed out that my plant had leaf serration from the LED light being to close the lux reading was about 250000lux
So since then I’ve been playing around to see what light power my little setup can handle
On my melon grow I’ve been running that about 10w to 20w at the wall like 0.6 dc amps on the light panel the ISH150pro can kick out 2.1dc amps on full wack even now I’ve turned the current up to 0.9 dc amps and can see some tiny leaf serration and its only 24000lux
I’m way under half the power the light can kick out but think that’s cos the tents so small in a bigger tent the light would spread more

Re: Light heights
The way iv found it is closer with less watts just doesn't give the same penetrative. If you have 35k at 12" and 10k at 24, if you turn the light down and move ut closer that 10k 24" away turns down to about 6k. All as an example but uts how iv found it, so if my light has to be 21 inches I know im getting a good 18" of usable light.
If that all makes sense
