Give cannabis to elderly people with chronic pain, doctors say

Post by The Aspie Toker »

Elderly people with chronic pain including back and joint injuries should be prescribed cannabis instead of conventional painkillers, doctors have said, as polling shows that three quarters of over-55s would consider taking it.

Doctors said cannabis-based medicines, including those that contain THC, the chemical that makes recreational users “high”, should be used instead of opioid medications.

I agree with this, but not on all 100%. Painkillers are dangerous not only for only elderly people, but for young people as well. Cannabis could be an effective replacement to the opioid drugs, but cannabis is still a light drug. In my 30s I encountered with anxiety, due to the full schedule with work, and issues in my personal life, seeing as I was always against anti-depressants and painkillers, came the idea of using cannabis, but still I was afraid of the addiction to it, so my research on natural remedies from anxiety, and generally from the physical pain, began. After some time of looking online, and reading many articles, I found a strain called kratom, after understanding that this was the perfect remedy for me, appeared the question from , eventually I found a trustworthy website with affordable prices and good reviews

I have removed your link to the site selling products not related to this forum or its sponsors. Kratom is not a strain of cannabis. I would have a look st the forum rules and the new cannabis growers section to learn a bit more about this forum.

Give cannabis to everyone with chronic pain! It's even more important for younger people as long term opiod use lowers bone density among many other horrendous side effects

Had a family member die of toxicity caused by painkillers.
I'll stick with the herbs.

My father did too... the day after my birthday. I've never celebrated one since.

They are too quick to label the problem and prescribe the drug.
I'm getting to the point of not trusting doctors.

I used to, but the last time I saw my GP he said "It's okay, the cancer hasn't spread" but when I went to the hospital, it had, and had done so for some time.
