Grow Tent Heaters
Hey
What type of heaters do you guys use inside your tent? My tent is in the garage so it gets quite cold off during lights off for 6 hours in veg, i dread when I put it into flowering. I have a small oil heater and another larger one, but I've also seen some use tube heaters. Any links or recommendations of what you use would be good.
Thank you

Re: Grow Tent Heaters
Sweet I've seem those inkbirds on amazon. Ive got a sonof might try that. I suppose fan heaters are quicker to heat up the tent. Thanks budHmr81 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 11:25 amI use an ink bird connected to a small 800w fan heater like this

I use an oil filled radiator:-
I was previously using one of those tubular heaters but it melted the end within about a day.

Re: Grow Tent Heaters
I’ve got a 500w oil filled radiator, it’s been on prity constant for the last few weeks since temps dropped, after this grow is done the tents getting moved and insulated, I’m also going to get a desiccant dehumidifier so u can reduce the airflow through the tent which obviously sucks the warm air out. I think with a dehumidifier I should be able to turn the extractor right down.

Re: Grow Tent Heaters
I've got one of the 2kw oil rads spare. Might wack that inside the tent for now. My temps have shot down to 14c. I could reduce the rate of extraction but dont have a controller.Minty wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 11:48 amI use an oil filled radiator:-

When I get a new tent 120x120x220 Ive got a 5" rhino pro and rvk a1 setup lined up for it. I think that needs to run full pelt, otherwise i wouldnt have much negative pressure left right if I attached a fan controller to slow it down? Maybe I should have gone for an 5" l1 or 6" but it just felt overkill. So many things to consider...arghh

Re: Grow Tent Heaters
I went with a 6" with a controller so it can run half speed producing less noise.

Re: Grow Tent Heaters
I've ordered one of these:
https://www.screwfix.com/p/freestanding ... 500w/8833p
My view the oil filled would be a nice safe option for in the tent.
Another to give you all feedback on soon!

Re: Grow Tent Heaters
I just wacked my 1.5kw oil filled from screwfix in the tent. Temps at lights off went from 14 to 18ish so I'm happy. I haven't connected it to a thermostat but its got the standard one on the rad and Ive set it half way so hopefully it will be fairly okay when my lights come on too.flip wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 4:54 pmI've ordered one of these:

Re: Grow Tent Heaters
Thanks for the tip Minty. Do you think my 5" rvk a1 and rhino pro be okay for my 1.2x1.2x2.2m tent?
The calculations I did made the 5" the closest to the volume I need to move, plus the extra headroom should help with heat. But my main concern is odor
Cheers
