Smart Tech
Morning All!
Just curious to know if you use any smart products to monitor/control your environments?
I use a eWeLink Thermo/Hygrometer - but there isn't any logging, it just displays real time figures. You can wire another device to it, so for example if it reachs a certain temp, it will kick the heater either on or off.
I also use a TP-Link Kasa plug for the timer for the lights.
I did have a camera inside, but don't want to do that with my photos due to the indicator or IR lights potentially screwing things up.
Interested to see what you guys/gals have..
Cheers!

@Minty has been working on something very cool to monitor and possibly control environment and feed.wutang wrote: ↑Mon Sep 21, 2020 8:14 amMorning All!

Re: Smart Tech
Of course mate. Ive been trying to find a way to do it globally out back. There isn't a setting. There is a "hack" but it will mean it cannot be turned on/off by members and I can see some members with many topics not liking that. Ill bring it up with Minty.wutang wrote: ↑Mon Sep 21, 2020 9:08 am@Keeno I've posted in here. Hope that's OK?

Re: Smart Tech
Hi wutang, I also have a sonoff device for my tent along with the sensor. I also have WiFi socket strips(one is tp-link) for everything in my tent to plug into.
To enable logging and better control of everything, I bought a raspberry pi and installed Home Assistant (hassio) on it and flashed the firmware on the sonoff with tasmota.
Hassio then takes care of switching lights, heater and dehumidifiers etc. It also logs history for everything and gives you nice graphs:
It's a little technical to set up but you can find you tube vids and tutorials easily enough

Re: Smart Tech
What do you mean 'possibly' - only reason it ain't finish yet is because I have been so busy fixing your shit since I got here ;o)
@wutang Check my Build Diary for what I have so far, and while mostly finished I still have some work to do with the software.
There are loads of solutions already out there for example:-
Home assistant, Node Red, etc. are all good starting points, especially if you are not comfortable with writing your own firmware.
