Jumping to last post

On the home page, under "Recent Topics" when you click on the title of a thread, it used to go to the first post. Now it goes to the last post.

Only seems to do it in that section.

I got it as well but in more places in the forum.

I did look and it seems to be by design i.e. if you check the link it contains a # at the end which is what it 'jumps' to. It only does it on the recent topic section and is linking the last post (the most recent).

I can certainly 'fix' it but not so sure I should ??

Definitely a bug here somewhere as sometimes the recent topics behave like people are suggesting it should, and then something triggers it to got to the last post (I think viewing one you are already subscribed to) and then they all seem to bug out and goto the last post...

I will keep investigating but it's not something I have changed or even touched so a little reluctant to fix anything until we understand the actual issue.

Just thought I would keep you updated and that I have not just ignored this.

It does mate, that's exactly the sort of feedback that will help us narrow down the issue. Once we understand what that is - we can make a more informed choice to fix it or not, but it definitely is not right is it? and I am pretty sure this has changed (although I can't see how any changes I have made would cause it). Once we find the cause then we can point the finger (and fine if it was caused by me - I will fix it).

For me, it only happens in "Recent Topics"

I've checked elsewhere on the site, yet fail to find an example of it happening.

Oh trust me, it does...

Apparently it was @Nanook who upgraded the recent topics so that explains it. I will check the differences in the code, although I kinda know why it is doing it.

While you're there, clicking on "Mark forums read" brings up an AJAX error.
