Has anyone used a HM ph-200 digital meter

Has anyone used a HM ph-200 digital meter?
Did you have very good luck with it?
This is the first and only PH Meter that I have ever owned so I don't know if these issues are normal.
I am having problems calibrating it and then it doesn't stay accurate. This is the second sensor ($35.00) that I have bought for it. It just seems like I have had too much trouble with it. I feel like I can't trust it.

I have ph strips and I just bought two different cheapie meters ($12.00) to tide me over but was wondering.
Do you guys prefer a particular brand and model less than $100.00 ? Or are the good ones more than that?

I have a vivosun meter that tests consistently, but it reads .2 higher than my blue lab guardian does even after calibrated. I've used it for about a year and haven't had issues so far, just make sure to rinse and leave the cap on after every use

Are you keeping the tip wet ..... giggity :) if you don't keep those glass probes wet it will drift. I keep mine in water 24/7 and they rarely move. It's not your make and model but it's pretty consistent and I've even found the expensive meters do the same. Try storing the probe in a cup of water and see if it drops out of calibration. If it does, RMA that mofo.

Thank You integrajosh! This is exactly what I was wondering. $14 vs. $285
That Vivosun is basically the same meter that I bought but without the Vivosun logo. I paid $10.74 for that one and bought a manual calibrate for $9.66. I'm thinking the manual one might be better of the cheapies because you can adjust it with the screwdriver. Maybe compensate for the .2 ph? Worst case scenario I can mentally adjust for the .2
With the cheap ones just keep one on hand and throw them away when they go bad.

Yeah with the water here the ph of the water changes with the seasons. Winter it's acidic, low on the ph. And the summer it's high.
Maybe I'm over monitoring.

It should still be in range for the microbes in the soil to buffer it.

I grew several years ago and then stopped for a bit and the tip did dry out. I had to replace the sensor. So maybe just that and the age screwed it up. It just never seemed quite rite after I replaced the sensor.

I'm not sure if it was me, the meter or a combo of both that screwed up.
