Sorry for the newbie question but I did a search and nothing come up, with regards E C pens are the ones for under £10 on eBay ok I think they do both e c and ph or do I need to spend more?

I've used both Essentials and BlueLab's and I am happy with both. I'd say BlueLab's slightly better but more expensive.

For measuring cf/ec/ppm my meter of choice is the truncheon, I bought this back around about 1996 it's powered by a magnetic charge after ewe shake it up and down, its no calibration needed ever it cost me £120 still works and is accurate to the present date for pH I use these liquid test kits a few Bob each for several hundred tests, the liquid test kits are way more accurate than the dodgy meters u can buy, u can fine tune the pH within a point or so they test in. 2.incriements to your desired range. Choose wisely
