Online shopping
Does anyone here do online shopping? eg. supermarket food.
I hear stories that you don't always get what you've ordered. I understand that if they don't have it, they cannot send it, but I hear they'll replace it with something else. I don't want to order a box of cornflakes and get sent tampons.
What do you do when they send something that you don't want/ordered?
Does that sort of thing happen often?
Thank you.

The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear.

Re: Online shopping
Hey Aspie I use Asda for online, they have the option to not accept substitute , however I select allow all to be substituted. Generally if you do get a sub it is ok, you do get the odd one that is no use. But since we been in lockdown I have managed with all that's been getting delivered. Usually if a sub is not suitable you can return, but at the minute they are not taking returns so you can just ask for a refund, which is usually processed same day.

Re: Online shopping
What I will say is at the min alot of stuff is going out of stock that I have in my shopping basket, so I tend to choose 1st morning delivery slot, as shelves usually stocked better and I always go in to my order at the last minute before cut off for amending 10pm with Asda. I select amend and them check out again as often lot of things have gone out of stock, so if you don't find alternative you just don't get that item x

I did try and order some blackstrap molasses before from them, but when I tried to pay for it, it said they didn't stock it and offered me something totally irrelevant, so I never purchased it. I've only added my Name to the account today. It already had my address, so I don't know if/when I'll receive a message from ASDA.
I was reading this...
https://asda-stores.custhelp.com/app/an ... /a_id/2022 but I don't know if that applies to us because...
I don't know if the gov know we don't have anyone to help although I've received the letter today to stay in etc.The government is sharing information with us on those people they have identified as being most in need of support. This means those people they have identified as being ‘extremely vulnerable’ and who have no-one to help them get food and essentials.
Also, I can only enter a mobile number on their site. So that's not really helpful for me.
Can I get tobacco sent as well?
Thank you, and sorry if my questions are stupid. I've been a customer of theirs for years, but only in-store. This shit is all new to me, and I may still have to continue to in-store shop myself. It's the queueing that fecks me up.

Re: Online shopping
I've also heard stories of people waiting weeks, and that banks have been declining online sales thinking it's a fraudulent sale. Then the customer has lost their slot and have to go through it all over again.Mini-G-Star wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 6:29 pmWhat I will say is at the min alot of stuff is going out of stock that I have in my shopping basket, so I tend to choose 1st morning delivery slot, as shelves usually stocked better and I always go in to my order at the last minute before cut off for amending 10pm with Asda. Re: Online shopping
I am not sure re phone numbers, so long ago I registered. Slots are pretty full up at minute, but as far as I know government supposed be supplying list for those shielding.
The way I have been booking mine so far is going online just before 12am as that's when slots come online, then booking then. I try and book a slot for each week as soon as they available. Do if I wanted one next Monday I would stay online tomorrow night to book it. I then just throw £40 quid worth in basket so I can check out. Then amend it accordingly. Yes you can get tobacco as I have been getting for nook. Anything else just ask will help if can xx
