Forum killing phone battery
Anyone noticed the forum killing their phone battery since the updates?
Watching vids on youtube uses less power than viewing the forum in a web browser
I thought my battery has had it but its fine if i dont come on here.
How does that work?

Re: Forum killing phone battery
Ill bump this up to tech. Nothing should have changed, it's just a new server, but all files, paths, and settings were migrated with the move. I do know there can be high usage if mchat is left open for long periods of time and images/videos are posted. This is being fixed with the new chat that I'm planning having built. I'll see what tests tech can do to see what could be causing the battery drainage.

Re: Forum killing phone battery
I worked out it's having the chat smilies open that kills the laptop battery.
(and a few windows still open with porn in the background too).

Re: Forum killing phone battery
Ill try closing the chat smilies
Phones set to not do background refresh so none of my apps and things tend to use power in the background
I think your right though it does seem to be more on the home page with chat open, its been stable the whole time ive been writing this

Re: Forum killing phone battery
Mchat is a bit shit tbh. Its an old creation that hasn't been updated much since the early days of this software. If I leave the chat open and people post images/videos, it seems to override the whole x amount of images being displayed.
I didn't think of the smileys Marcus, they can probably be reduced/made into tabs, so not a huge amount of them.
Ill get the tests run anyway. Its a completely different server and this may be causing an extension installed to act different than we are used to.

Re: Forum killing phone battery
No worries, they seem to be bouncing around a lot so I presumed they were using more energy thanif I shut them down.
The same happens if you try and ignore that Stickylemons fellow in chat, your battery will last LOADS longer.
