Silent 6” fan in the uk
Hey
Looking for some suggestions for a 6” fan for extraction that runs silently and is available in the uk, need to go stealth so looking for something that doesn’t whine on slow speeds.
Thanks a lot

You considered the AC Infinity range?

Re: Silent 6” fan in the uk
So im running a 4inch ac infinity on my 2ftx2ft tent, while it is a lot quieter than the 5 inch l1 rvk that i had before i wouldn't exactly call it stealth while running at full chap. However, when it is dialed down below half way its pretty inaudible 2ft away from my bed. I use the controler to set max and min temp and rh and it adjusts fan speed according. It normally sits around setting 6-7. I'd say go up a size if you want 6inch capacity and lover noise but depends on how quiet you wanna be.
Making plans with a stoner is like being with a prostitute. They tell you they’re coming, but you know it’s a lie.

Re: Silent 6” fan in the uk
I have seen there are a couple of people using them, looking for something that’ll run quietly in the loft with no hum, that’s the only thing that gives my 10” away.
Was that meant to be ac not ec?
Well basically at the moment I’ve got a 5” carbon filter in the tent with 6” acoustic ducting running up into the loft where it goes up in size to 10” and into a 10” RAM fan, out the other side it goes from 10” down to 5” and then a piece of 5” acoustic ducting into a bit of 4” pipe that pokes out the roof.Herbalist wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 7:14 pmSo im running a 4inch ac infinity on my 2ftx2ft tent, while it is a lot quieter than the 5 inch l1 rvk that i had before i wouldn't exactly call it stealth while running at full chap. The 10” fan is plugged into an eco technics fan controller and the max speed is set to 50%, min 25% and that works just fine. It removes plenty of air and does a great job on lower speeds and is pretty quiet but it makes some humming noise so needs to go. Got a house guest coming to stay with us and I need to keep it all under wraps.
I’m thinking the 6” should fit inline better and do away with a load of reducers and things, plus I’ll take a bit of 6” acoustic ducting from the fan and attach it to the 4” pipe so that takes care of all that.
At the moment I’m running mh and hps so always got heat to deal with, very soon waiting on a delivery of led panels which should help the groom run cooler and hopefully mean the fan will be quieter again.

Re: Silent 6” fan in the uk
@Vador
An electronically commutated (EC) fan design delivers the combined benefits of AC and DC Fans. The EC fan's power comes from a brushless DC motor, but it offers the control that AC induction fans have over the fan rotor through a printed circuit board
on summarise, the difference between an AC fan and EC fan is: An AC fan has an alternating current and is very expensive to control without making it hum or buzz. An EC fan is basically a digital fan. It's a lot easier to control
