Maxibright Maxifan 8" monkey mount fan
If you're like me and been growing for a while in a tent you'll know that finding a decent fan that will fix is a right ol chore. Most of the clip-on fans on the market are pretty crap. The best of the bunch I found was the Growth Technology 6" clip on fan but they burn out quickly unless you take them apart and clean them thoroughly every grow and even then the bearing tend to go after a year of continuous use. I've heard that GT have discontinued them too. I've been through many over the years like the Secret Jardin ones and some others like the black ones with the really crap pole mount that slips.
While browsing through the Internet I came across the Maxibright Maxifan 8" and thought I'd give it ago since they make some bold claims like quiet running and fully oscillating. And I must say so far I'm very impressed! The mount is a bit brutal and uses a full metal construction with a wind in bolt that holds it in place. Very sturdy but will take the protective paint off the tent poles unless you use a couple of layers of electrical tape or something. It's the first pole mount fan that actually oscillates and not just blast a single area with air. It's about a 90 degrees sweep which is perfect for a corner of a tent. It's one of the quietest fans I've used and it's gives a nice breeze to keep your canopy moving. So far I'm very impressed!

Yup those secret jardin fans a right noisey things. I was constantly getting pulled up in Skype calls about the wind noise I managed to blag it and put it down to a broken mic until I could replace it. I'll do a little video later so you can hear this one.

Re: Maxibright Maxifan 8" monkey mount fan
I goy some of those ones that slide its a purple bladed one. Works well
I find they either do really good job of one thing and not both. It's a good clip like the ram 6 inch ones and rubbish fan, noisy or a crap clip and good fan.
Why not swap a good clip onto a decent fan

Re: Maxibright Maxifan 8" monkey mount fan
I've had my maxifan for ages now, well around a year and a bit or something and it's still going. Never cleaned it or done any other maintenance and I use a voltage step controller to turn the speed down a bit more, it's in a 75cm x 75cm tent. The only other fan I have my eye on when it becomes available is the ac infinity cloudray, its an ec fan with 10 steps of control that can be plugged into the controller 67/69 aswel.

Re: Maxibright Maxifan 8" monkey mount fan
Nice review. I had their oscillating one in my 2x4 and it lasted easily over two years of continuous use.seymore_budz wrote: ↑Sun Feb 27, 2022 12:54 pmIf you're like me and been growing for a while in a tent you'll know that finding a decent fan that will fix is a right ol chore. Re: Maxibright Maxifan 8" monkey mount fan
So after 4 weeks continuous use i heard a pop come from my grow cupboard when in kitchen this morning, so went checked and fan wasn`t working it stunk of burnt out electrics, long and short of it i changed fuse out and no go, bloody motor has popped me thinks, lucky i was in i suppose it coulda been worse. I've messaged guys i bought it from lets see what they say about replacing it without me needing to send the burnt out one back, cus thats in bin now less the bracket tie thingi-bob, like fuck am i gonna fuck around repacking shit to send back.
I really need a decent small fan thats as quiet a\s this one was, so whats everyone else using ? Cheers guys.

Re: Maxibright Maxifan 8" monkey mount fan
Im just looking at the VOXON one is it quiet ? So the usb type i like sounds of the small dinky fans but im not liking idea of leaving them plugged in as its battery operated and needs recharging. Reason being overcharging batteries can be dangerous although most batteries should have built in protection these days as well as chargers should too, but still not a fan of running shit this way, no pun intended.Greenfingers wrote: ↑Sun Feb 27, 2022 2:30 pmthese are the 2 fans ive been using for a couple of years now and they been spot on.
