Urban Buddy Led
I have a 2.4 x 1.2 set up primarily being lit by 2 x 600w MH while in veg. I have a dual spec 240w Urban Buddy LED that I used on a small tent last year. I decided to hang it between the 600s as head it not an issue in the sunny UK at the moment. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these LED lights? The specs seem good, Samsung led's meanwell driver, dimming function all mounted to a thick aluminium heat sync.

Re: Urban Buddy Led
Hey Skywalker,
I know a couple of guys that have used these and the results weren't great TBH. On paper they sound good but results were lacking.
I think he's based out of Norfolk and just buying them from Alibaba and knocking them up in his shop. I'd check out Invisible Sun. Not a shamless plug and I'm not affiliated or bias as I only have a small 100w from IS that I use in my clone tent. All my other LEDs are Lumatek. The quality you get from IS is far superior to the UB leds.

Re: Urban Buddy Led
The invisible sun results speak from themselves, I'm not sure there is a huge difference between the units with the same diodes the same drivers and a similar price point but I'm no expert.seymore_budz wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 7:31 pmHey Skywalker,

I like the look of two ish530br for my setup, I think they will be worth the investment

Re: Urban Buddy Led
I mean I'm not talking first hand experience as I've not used the Urban Buddy. I've seen them running and seen some plants underneath them. That's the general feedback I got from a couple of people I knew that used them but I suppose there's always a chance that they didn't know how to use them or they just blamed the LEDs for a poor grow. Wouldn't be the first time someone's done that lol.Skywalker wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 10:33 pmThe invisible sun results speak from themselves, I'm not sure there is a huge difference between the units with the same diodes the same drivers and a similar price point but I'm no expert.seymore_budz wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 7:31 pmHey Skywalker,

This is my opinion. Those Urban Buddy units are just your bog standard Alibaba lights. They're the cheapest ones on there too. Most of these LEDs on the market are manufactured in China and probably come from the same factory as the mid-range Alibaba models but with the larger companies, at least they verify the quality before putting them out on the shelves. I would say that UB isn't doing any QA testing. I personally would be suspicious of the "Meanwell drivers". They probably OK but you couldn't guarantee that the drivers or bins are genuine.
Invisible sun LEDs are UK manufactured and the guys love what they do and the results show. If you buy a LED from them you can guarantee the quality. If they're not significantly cheaper than more reputable brands then why take a risk?
I'm sure they're fine but the above would be my thought process when considering dropping a few hundred quid on a LED.

there is huge difference between the led we use and the ones the company in question claim they use.Skywalker wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 10:33 pmThe invisible sun results speak from themselves, I'm not sure there is a huge difference between the units with the same diodes the same drivers and a similar price point but I'm no expert.seymore_budz wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 7:31 pmHey Skywalker,

Re: Urban Buddy Led
Thanks for the reply, I was under the impression that they use Samsung LM301H there is obviously a lot more to it than that. My next lights will be from yourselves I just wanted to know if anyone had had experience with the unit I already have.Invisible Sun wrote: ↑Sat Feb 19, 2022 2:39 pmthere is huge difference between the led we use and the ones the company in question claim they use.Skywalker wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 10:33 pmThe invisible sun results speak from themselves, I'm not sure there is a huge difference between the units with the same diodes the same drivers and a similar price point but I'm no expert.seymore_budz wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 7:31 pmHey Skywalker,
