Mycelium Growth
Mycelium Fungi Growth
Hey growmies,
Here you may just be able to see some mycelium growth. This was really simple to do and is very useful to add to compost teas and to give your worm castings a boost.
Whizzed up a small handful of raw oat meal. Mixed it into some worm castings and some mollasses and water. Just so it is damp. Not sodden.

Re: Mycelium Growth
I knew about it then stumbled upon it on the Internet that reminded me.
Its really easy to do, this is the 1st time I've done it. Oats is a good source of iron for your plants too ✌

Re: Mycelium Growth
very cool Rik buddy. just be careful with this process. depending on the life of your compost bin youll be culturing unknown microbe consortiums. typically if its white its safe but fusarium is white mate and can fuck shit up!!
keep playing man cos your doing great stuff. just be safe and dont breathe anything in your culturing

Re: Mycelium Growth
Have you thought of making some leafmould? It's not too late to do as there are still plenty of dead leaves on the ground.

It all comes at once!
That is something I have not looked into.
How would you do that? Same sort of way as a FPJ?

Re: Mycelium Growth
Honestly.... This is the reason i shy from the term and use of "compost tea"
With out atleast a decent grasp of how to ID microbes with a microscope, you really are guessing when culturing from a source which has its own microbial life cycle (different microbial colonies will peak and fall at different times of decomposition). This is why i try stick with micronization of organic matter with LABs and only bubble or culture colonies from known sources like GHO microbiome or DEM natural mystik or single source microbes like beauveria bassiana or BTI
