Heated waistcoat
Has anyone got one of these?
I am thinking of getting the wife one, but you need some sort of charger.
This is one I like...
https://www.lightinthebox.com/en/p/men- ... 48853.html
That one says...
"Instructions
1. The heated jacket is charged with a power bank through the USB port, no battery is needed
2. Open the inside pocket, take out the USB plug, and put in the power bank
3. Connect to a power bank
4. Press the power bank output switch
5. Press the temperature control switch for 2 seconds
6. The red light flashes for automatic temperature control heating
7. After the red light flashes for 5 minutes, it will automatically turn white and the jacket will be medium temperature control
8. There are three levels of manual adjustment. Red light means continuous high temperature heating, white light means continuous medium temperature heating, and blue light means continuous low temperature heating.
9. Press the temperature control switch for 2 seconds, the light is off, it means heating stops"
They don't provide a link to purchase the "power bank" so I don't know what I need.
Some other sites where they sell similar say "5v 2a power bank" - but that just looks like a battery pack - therefore does need batteries.
I never knew these waistcoats even existed.

I am trying to get my head round as to how it works. It's going to be costly if it needs batteries for it to work for hours on end.
I would have thought you could plug it into the mains to charge up a power bank and then use that to keep it warm, but the 5v things - like you have shown - use batteries.
I think they would be great for people who are fishing, but yes, around the garden too. I only found out about them yesterday and spent ages looking at different ones, but not one offered a power supply - just said that you'd need one.

Re: Heated waistcoat
A hat with a solar panel could charge this and keep your head warm all at once!

Re: Heated waistcoat
I googled it.
"Nesh is an English dialect adjective meaning 'unusually susceptible to cold weather' and there is no synonym for this use. The Oxford English Dictionary defines the word as: "Soft in texture or consistency; yielding easily to pressure or force."
I am not, but the wife is. She has fibro and her room is a lot colder than mine at night, which is why I want to get her one.

Re: Heated waistcoat
It's not for me, but for the wife. As a kid, I didn't mind the cold at all, but now I'm a lot older and my lungs don't like the cold, plus I have arthritis and cancer in my bones at it hurts when they're cold. A friend wrote to my yesterday and said she has an electrically heated waistcoat to keep warm when she's flying. That's when I started looking for one for the wife.DIY.Rik wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 5:39 pmJust joking mate lol, just means bit of a wimp. Yo uhate the cold
