Re: Another energy rise in October - 32%
I think many will be doing as Nom says. Some people will hit different average amounts, chuck in the 1 in 5 bad grow that does much less, the 1 in 10 grow that gets ripped out because of some security concern or issue. Its not going to be viable for many, and even if it is just viable, why risk it when there are now legal options.
Im genuinely worried for hobbyist/craft growing in the UK.

Legal as in its pretty easy to get medical weed in the UK these days, delivered to your door. More and more will take the easy option rather than pay for high end lights and kit to be more efficient, still pay a fortune to run the kit.Paul_led wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 5:44 pmLegal options ……. Tbh I don't think any personal grower is getting fucked too bad if no previous in England at least. It's still pretty narly north of the wall. There full scale house commercial ops getting busted and they aint going away. Some hobby growers dont even get a trip to the station, just kit smashed up, plants taken.
Im not worried like that lol. I'm worried more and more people won't get into our chosen hobby. Less hobby/craft growers, less demand for the type of kits, places, info, we all use. It all gets commercialized, and everyone starts to take the easy convenient option. Interesting times to come.

For me it's a hobby and most hobbies cost money.
I'll let you in on a secret... we haven't had an electric bill since moving into this place even though we've chased them and chased them.
Fuck em.

Re: Another energy rise in October - 32%
Having spent a bit of time crunching the numbers and seeing what kind of tariff we're actually on and what it will go upto and it aint all that bad I don't think, told the mrs what it would be going upto and that she has to put an extra £60 a month into the joint account and she just sighed and said ok. Turns out I'm just under a grand in credit with the leccy company the bastards. It certainly wont be going upto more than 400 a month and I've already laid out on ec fans and leds in the first year of growing so im probably about as efficient as i can be for usage, maybe change a driver thats all. Compared to the other houses in the street we're average use electric, turns out we're over using gas by a fair bit and that just provides hot water and heating. Why are women always so cold? I wouldn't mind if she was wondering around in stockings and little else but she got dungarees and boots on

If you want my advice, get yourself down the cash and carry and grab some toilet roll while you can because panic buying will commence in about two weeks. I'm going to grab 50 rolls this week
