I paid a deposit on a 4kw solar system today. Should cover half my electric bill
How much is that system going to cost dude?

Will it save you much per year?
System is £6250 Inc vat.

Will generate 4000kw a year. I use around 6500kw a year according to my bill . So at my current tariff before the price rise hits us it will save me £1200 a year. When rises come in April about £2160 a year saving and then more again in October when the cap increases again. Pay for itself in 3 years
Have you used one of the online calculators to see how much you can save yearly?

I've written PV off as it looks like it'll only save me £250 a year on the leccy bill. :idn: That means it'll take me 20 years to get the £5k investment back.

I'm confused as fuck about it. :strangling: :surrender:

What's the cost mate? I was looking at wind power but they are big money.
We live on the coast and it would make sense. For a 10k system which is enough to power a house apparently. The cost would be £30k plus you need planning permission.
£6250 Inc vat for a 4kw system
I'll have a closer look at that. Thank you.

Some of them are expandable so you can add storage to it.

It depends on quite a few factors from which way your roof faces to get maximum yield , through to how you use your electricity, so for example, iv got a South facing roof with no shading , I get he maximum amount of sun for my location, coupled with the new panels which work of diffused light rather than direct sunlight I get a good yield. Then as most of my leccy is utilised during the day while the panels are generating power I use it as it's created. As I don't have a battery if I don't use it it's wasted as it goes back to the grid.
Now most of my leccy cost is from my lights an fans so I figure if I can run them during the day I'll save all that leccy an then after the summer I'll buy a battery to add in to the system.

Move to different area if needed just curious to see what everyone is paying for gasoline. I paid $3.99 a gallon today but otw home passed places $4.28.
This morning i saw some places in USA Nearly $7 per gallon.. whats it like overseas and etc??
It's around £1.60 a liter here and will go up more. Unless my maths is wrong that's about $7 - $8 per US gallon.
They saying it will go higher than £2 a liter soon enough as well.

Just a note for anyone who uses the older top up keys for electricity you really need to be ramming it in your juice box before end of month when energy is going up again around 50% you will still be buying it at older rates and it stays that way till its used and you top up again at newer rate. Saw it on Martin Lewis money program other night, it only works with older type leccy keys or gas cards.

If you're going to compare prices, then you need to do it in litres and not gallons. US gallons differ to UK gallons. I don't know what Australia gallon size is without looking into it.

Average UK price is £1.61 today. That means $8 a gallon for the US folks if they were to fill up over here. My new nutrients are in the US gallon so have been working out conversions in my head all week.

Edit: keeno has all ready posted this info earlier on so here it is again. Sorry for wasting your time reading a useless post and then even more time wastes reading this apology that you're still reading right now. Stop reading now, go onto the next post. Go on... go.
