Yes i`ll 2nd and agree with you their too.wutang wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 9:12 pmThe RAM clip on fans do die pretty quick tho. The last one I took a part and spun it up, only died a few weeks into the next grow. But the ECO Fan that some of the lads recommended me on here is a decent unit...no idea how long it will last but it seems like its built well.Minty wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 12:30 amHey @The Aspie Toker mate, one of my clip on fans (Monkey Jardin or some shit) stopped working and I just ignored it as I had spares but eventually took it apart, found nothing wrong and after reassemble it works fine! I vote Poor quality control mate - The RAM fans as seen in various grow diaries are the way forwards - for me at least.

Nice one I've got one does the same.2-Scoops wrote:I just changed my oscillating fan out last grow from one id had a good few years it also stopped working if i ever unplugged it so my fix was to remove front cover and plug it back in and i`d get it back started like they did those old biplanes used in WW1 that Red Baron flew, basically i was spinning prop to get it fired up , i ran it a few grows that way but i was always a bit para about it in back of my mind so i bit bullet and bought a new one beginning of last grow. The Aspie Toker wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 10:14 pmI went to check on the plants a little earlier and noticed that the clip on fan had stopped working.
I checked it with another socket (not via variac), still dead.
Swapped the fuse over for a new one. Still dead.
I was browsing as to how to fix it when all of a sudden the fan started. I then swapped it back to it's original socket (via variac) and has continued to work.
It may need a clean as it's over 6 years old. Can these fans catch fire at all?
Thank you.
I always say contact before I spin it
Ginger's bought it

I did have a smoke detector hung above it thinking it would keep me safe for some crazy reason.Treetrunk wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 9:19 pmNice one I've got one does the same.2-Scoops wrote:I just changed my oscillating fan out last grow from one id had a good few years it also stopped working if i ever unplugged it so my fix was to remove front cover and plug it back in and i`d get it back started like they did those old biplanes used in WW1 that Red Baron flew, basically i was spinning prop to get it fired up , i ran it a few grows that way but i was always a bit para about it in back of my mind so i bit bullet and bought a new one beginning of last grow. The Aspie Toker wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 10:14 pmI went to check on the plants a little earlier and noticed that the clip on fan had stopped working.

I bought me one of these now hung on a yo-yo at side of room, its twin speed and not loudest fan I've used by far, I've had it in one grow, it works a treat so jobs a good en. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Schalen-Gunm ... %3A2334524

Re: Can a clip on fan catch fire?
I've got one of these smart ones that measures temp and humidity with a siren. But I'm too para thinking if it fails its just going to have this loud noise coming from my shed and the neighbours will get even more sus haha so I pussied put and just put a smart temp ans and humidity sensor with an auto fire extinguisher that sites outside of the tent in the shed. For £40 it certainly brings me a little peace of mind.2-Scoops wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 10:40 amI did have a smoke detector hung above it thinking it would keep me safe for some crazy reason.Treetrunk wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 9:19 pmNice one I've got one does the same.2-Scoops wrote:
