Great question Cam,
I can give you my anecdotal experience. First I would say I had a lot more problems/funky genetics and crappy plants when I was growing autoflowers. This isn't a shot at auto's, I just found percentage wise, I had issues with about 20% with auto seeds I grew. I have had issues with photo periods, but nowhere near the percentage I had with autos.
Sweet seeds SAD - every seed was total crap, dominant ruderalis genes, which you can't tell until you have invested 2 months of time, space and money. Sweet seeds jack train wreck wasn't an auto. I will never buy or grow Sweet seeds ever again.
Delicious seeds had this purple kush auto that was the worst plant I ever grew....it was very purple though. But had zero potency and a terrible taste. But that said, the Delicious seeds Critical Neville Haze was the best auto i every grew. Also, the Jack Herrer's weren't autoflowers, I had to switch to 12/12 to get them o flower. So its a toss up, they had both the best and worst autoflowers I ever came across.
Fast buds had a lot of variation with their gear. Out of a pack you would get one really good plant, the rest would be kinda ho hum. This would be ok if they were photo's because you can always keep a clone, you miss out on this luxury with autos of course.
Dinafem OG kush was total crap, again the plant was more ruderalis genetics than anything else and you find out way to late in the growth cycle to do anything about it. But I grew other Dinafem autos that were fine.
Sensi seeds photo periods....I was so disappointed when I grew out their Black Domina, I had such high hopes. Its really sad because Sensi once had such a good name. Now I would only every grow out "old school Sensi" seed stock or relatives. I will never again buy any current Sensi seed stock.
Thanks for bringing this topic up Cam, people need to know not all seed stock is equal.
